We all remember middle school when social status was deemed by:
1) Who got picked for kickball first and who had abdominal muscles. These were the days when every guy was starting to want muscles, and alot of the girls were starting to notice muscles. Well fellas I have good news...abs are not everything or even at the top of the list when it comes to building. There are several muscles that must be developed in order to make your abs stand out. First are your spinal erectors. Weak spinal erectors translate to a weak core. Focus on deadlifts and rows in order to build up your spinal erectors and reinforce your abs. Rear delts and rhomboids are two other muscle groups that indirectly affect the appearance of abdominals. The rear delts and rhomboids help in the retraction of the scapula and this in turn gives you the appearance of broader shoulders and flatter abs. So remember, while abs are fun to have, don't neglect your other muscle groups.
