Everybody knows that protein and the gym go hand in hand. We all have seen it, dudes slamming their shakes right after they lift, to get in that protein so they can hopefully build that little extra muscle. But why are they doing this? Well there is a method to their madness. Your body does not store protein, meaning it has no reservoir to draw from when you're running low. This means if you are in the business of trying to put on muscle I can not stress enough how important protein really is. I recommend 1g per pound of body weight. So if you weigh 185 lbs, you best eat 185g of protein.
